Mangurama and Bobb Films have bought U.S. and Canadian theatrical distribution rights for the documentary “Weed the People,” executive produced by Ricki Lake.

Abramorama is a New York-based global theatrical distribution and rights management partner for music films, founded in 2000. Richard Abramowitz, CEO, is attending TIFF 2018.

Coinciding with the film's 50th anniversary, the newly restored version will give audiences "the best version of this film they've ever seen," said Richard Abramowitz, chief executive officer of Abramorama.

While many theater owners crossed their collective fingers that this nostalgia trip would be a success, they weren’t quite ready for sold out auditoriums and the communal atmosphere in the 200 screens that distributor Abramorama selected for opening weekend.

Abramorama and Cinereach have signed a deal to give music documentary Matangi/Maya/MIA a US release in September.

Abramorama has acquired the U.S. and Canadian theatrical rights to Paula Eiselt’s feature directorial debut, “93Queen.”

The film uses John Butterfield’s music and words, along with first-­hand accounts of his family, his band mates and those closest to him.

The group’s history is the focus of a new film, The Public Image Is Rotten, that will be coming out via Abramorama this fall. 

“[Abramorama’s] passion and expertise in music films combined with their ability to strategically release the film globally will allow fans around the world to enjoy a never before seen look at PiL and the true John Lydon.”  

Abramorama has landed rights and set a release date for This Is Congo, the documentary from celebrated war photographer Daniel McCabe.

Through a deal with documentary-film distributor Abramorama, “The Most Unknown” will be released in theaters in 20 U.S. cities, starting May 18 at New York City’s Quad Cinema.

Abramorama has agreed with Apple Corps Ltd. and Universal Music Group to re-release The Beatles’ animated feature film, “Yellow Submarine,” in North America in July in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Apple Corps Ltd. and UMG have teamed up to produce the event along with Abramorama, with whom Apple partnered on Ron Howard’s documentary The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years.
