Abramorama will handle the North American theatrical distribution of John Scheinfeld’s Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary.

Ramin Bahrani, Woody Harrelson and John Turturro are backing The Seventh Art Stand series.

“We believe it is crucial to build a tradition of sharing more stories, voices, and faces on our screens,” lead organizers Courtney Sheehan, Executive Director of the Northwest Film Forum (NWFF), and Richard Abramowitz, President of Abramorama, said in a statement.

More than 30 venues in 18 states were confirmed in The Seventh Art Stand, organized by distributor and Abramorama founder Richard Abramowitz and executive director Courtney Sheehan of Seattle-based film arts organization Northwest Film Forum.

Abramorama and Mangusta Productions are partnering to bring films that support a positive “consciousness” message to the theatrical marketplace, and have announced their first two films in the new deal.

During the Abramorama nationwide theatrical release, Best Worst Thing received some of the best reviews of the year for a documentary.

Abramorama has acquired the documentary Restless Creature about the prima ballerina that bowed in the fall at the New York Film Festival.

Abramorama, coming off the release of Ron Howard’s The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years documentary, has partnered with Sword Rowe Capital to establish a Filmed Content and P&A Fund.

Karol Martesko-Fenster and Evan Saxon have formalized their roles on the executive team at independent distributor Abramorama.

Indie distributor Abramorama this year is also behind the docus The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years and Kim Snyder’s Newtown among others.

The Beatles announced Friday that the film, which became available by streaming for home viewers on Hulu after its world premiere Sept. 15 and its theatrical release on Sept. 16, was being held for a third week by some theaters.

What was initially planned as a one-week U.S. theatrical run in 85 theaters has expanded to 180 cinemas, with nearly every venue holding the movie over for a second week.

"Any day when this little film can out-gross studio films in 48 of the top 50 theaters is a good day," said Richard Abramowitz, president of the film's distributor, Abramorama.

Abramorama, which recently released Ron Howard documentary The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years, has lined up a theatrical release for Best Worst Thing beginning Nov. 18

Best Worst Thing was directed by original Merrily We Roll Along cast member Lonny Price, and features interviews with Sondheim, Harold Prince and original cast members including Jason Alexander and Tony-winner Tonya Pinkin.

Ron Howard isn’t typically associated with limited release titles, but the director opened his latest with distributor Abramorama.

Abramorama’s The Beatles: Eight Days a Week is the most likely to stand out among the specialized limited releases.
