From Abramorama, the documentary tracing the work of historian Emanuel Ringelblum and a group of journalists, scholars, and community leaders — who defied the Nazis and their propaganda by recording the war from the Jewish perspective — will open at New York’s Quad Cinema on January 18 and at multiple Laemmle theaters in Los Angeles on February 1.

EXCLUSIVE: Abramorama has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Write When You Get Work, the new movie from My New Gun writer-director Stacy Cochran. The romantic comedy starring Finn Wittrock and Rachel Keller, who play former lovers whose paths cross years later (with a heist thrown in for good measure), will bow in New York beginning November 23 ahead of a cross-country rollout in which Cochran will be on hand for a Q&A following each city screening. New York-based indie distributor Abramorama has acquired the U.S. theatrical rights to director/producer Ron Mann’s 10th feature documentary, Carmine Street Guitars.

EXCLUSIVE: Abramorama has acquired U.S. rights to Carmine Street Guitars, the Ron Mann-directed documentary that takes a snapshot of Rick Kelly’s fabled Greenwich Village shop where he makes guitars out of salvaged wood from historic New York buildings. Mangurama and Bobb Films have bought U.S. and Canadian theatrical distribution rights for the documentary “Weed the People,” executive produced by Ricki Lake.
